Hilarious Author Error + British Book Box Set Deals

In the last year or two, it’s become increasingly common to see AI-generated answers at the top of your Google searches - often with wildly inaccurate or downright bizarre information. But even before AI got involved, the internet was more than capable of leading writers astray.
Just ask Irish author John Boyne, who once Googled “how to dye clothes red” while working on a historical novel - and ended up accidentally including monster parts from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as ingredients in a scene set during Attila the Hun’s reign. Octorok eyeballs, Hylian shrooms, and all. Fortunately, Boyne took it in stride and left the passage in the book, joking that he’d add Zelda to the acknowledgements page - despite never having played the game.
The book in question? It was A Traveler at the Gates of Wisdom.

Deals can disappear at any time, but all e-books were $2.99 or less at time of writing.
