May Mysteries & More: Brand New British Books You’ll Love

Quite a few people wrote back to tell us they enjoyed seeing local and virtual events for British authors in a previous email, so we’ve decided to continue adding those in every so often as we become aware of new events. Most are free, and those that aren’t are usually in support of some library or literacy group.

  • Madison, WI & Livestream - Though Allison Epstein is an American author, her latest book, Fagin the Thief, reimagines the world of Charles Dickens through the eyes of pickpocket Jacob Fagin. She’ll be at Mystery to Me, LLC on the 13th. (Details HERE)

  • Online event - On June 10th, British thriller author Lisa Jewell will be doing an online event with Boyden Library. (Details HERE)

  • Online event - “Women in the Sherlock Holmes Stories” - On May 17th, this free live event takes a look at the role of women in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s fictional world. (Details HERE)

  • Madison, WI - London-born Colin Cotterill (The Motion Picture Teller) will be at Mystery to Me, LLC on May 14th. (Details HERE)

  • Jackson, MS - Tom Spencer will be at Lemuria Bookstore on May 14th. His novel The Mystery of the Crooked Man is set in England and the featured author in the novel seems to be loosely based on Dame Agatha Christie. (Details HERE)

  • Tallahassee, FL - Tom Spencer will be at Midtown Reader on May 15th. (Details HERE)

  • Denton, TX - Lana Ferguson will be at The Plot Twist on May 17th, promoting her Scottish rom-com Under Loch & Key. (Details HERE)

  • Scottsdale, AZ - Sarah Pinborough (Behind Her Eyes) will be at The Poisoned Pen Bookstore on May 22nd. (Details HERE)

  • York, PA & Asheville, NC - David Baldacci may be American, but his latest book, Strangers in Time, is set in 1944 London. He has two ticketed events coming up in conjunction with the release.
